This command configures the number of lines and columns for the current login session only.

columns | Number of columns on the screen. |

The screen size specified takes effect over whatever screen size the session may have started with or whatever the current settings may be. If the terminal emulation supports dynamic resizing of the window, this will cause the size set by this command to be overriden. The command accepts either lines or columns or both in either order.
The show management command has been enhanced to display the current screen size:
